This piece is about death but in a hopeful way. Poppies can be symbols of death (potentially because of opium?) and I once heard that the soul was thought to exit the mouth after death in the form of a bee. I decided to take these two death symbols and join them together in a way that would create new life; by having the soul-bees pollinate the poppies.
