Inspired by Botecelli’s La Primevera this painting depicts the story of Chloris, a nymph and Zephyr, the god of the west wind. Chloris was abducted by Zephyr but he “did the right thing” by marrying her and turning her into the goddess, Flora. Despite the soft colors this is quite an unsettling painting.
